If you have a car, you should understand that maintenance is part and parcel of owning a car. Of course, when you maintain a vehicle, there would be times that you need to replace some parts to keep your vehicle in good condition. And of course, every car owner wants to buy original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts at low prices. If you think you cannot do this online, then think again.

OEM parts can now be bought through the internet. Of course, a wise shopper would know that scammers and frauds exist online (and off the Web) so extra care and caution should be taken when shopping online. If you need to shop for some new parts for your car, then here are some useful tips to follow.

The first step is to find a reliable and trustworthy car new parts website. It is better to rely on big names especially if it is your first time to buy on the Web. Once you find a car parts website, you can then search for the specific auto part you need. A good website would provide you with a useful OEM parts search tool so that you would not have to go through every page of the site just to look for a particular piece of equipment. To use this search tool, you should simply enter the year, make and model of the car piece you are interested in. Once you have entered those bits of important information, you will then be led to a page that lists the available car new parts. You can then click on the specific item you are after once you have confirmed it is what you need. Lastly, you proceed to checkout and complete your purchase.

Using bigger auto parts sites assures you that you get discount parts as well. Buying online gives you already lowered prices but there are some online stores that give customers better prices. By choosing this kind of site, you get discount parts automatically.

Of course, you can also benefit from special deals like free or discounted shipping rates. Some online auto parts stores offer free shipping if your purchase is above $50. Now, that is one great deal that you cannot always get when you shop off the Web. In essence, each purchase you make from this shop will automatically get you discount parts for any type of vehicle.

Buying automotive parts on the Web is as simple as buying any other smaller item; that is, if you know where to shop. Grab great online deals when shopping for automotive parts and experience for yourself the ease and convenience provided by internet shopping. With this auto parts online shopping option, life can indeed be easy.

A passion for collecting Diecast model cars is a serious hobby as online forums and the Diecast Magazine indicate. If you love cars and collected miniature toy cars, you might be considering the more mature hobby of diecast model car collecting. Today quality diecast model manufacturers produce models that are miniature engineering feats. Meticulous detail is recreated in these replica models released in scales popular with the growing fraternity of diecast collectors. This is an international hobby, so the market for such cars is huge. These miniature models can range in prices ranges from a few dollars for Mattel Hot Wheels type to even thousands of dollars for highly detailed cars from a manufacturer like Autoart. Vintage cars can cost thousands. They can also be made from kits, so you can participate in their construction and have a sense of pride in the final product. A significant number of these model cars have limited production runs and come numbered with a certificate, which as time goes by will make them increase in value.

Fully constructed die cast metal scale model cars are very popular with collectors. Scaled models are manufactured in a range of scales such as 1:12,1:24,1:43,1:64 and others. Cars that are especially attractive are those with a real eye to detail. Doors, hoods, trunks and fuel caps that open, ashtrays that slide out and glove compartments that work are some of the realized features. Some models cars even have hanging ignition keys and removable hood pins to open the hood. Most have working car steering and suspension with real materials used in the interiors.

Though most car models are not powered vehicles, some individual model builders have powered vehicles using different devices. Such models may suffer in comparison to the more detailed replicas found in the best static models. However, some more sophisticated commercial examples have the scale and details to be comparable. Commercially-produced power car models include those developed in the 1930s that could be found until the 1960s. Most of these cars known as tether cars used small internal combustion engines. There are models that are wound by a key or a friction mechanism. These were common until electrically slot cars that run on tracks succeeded them in the 1960s. In fact, the original Scalextric line which was sold in 1957 for the first time was essentially a motorized version of earlier clockwork Scalex racers. Radio-controlled cars can be bought assembled or can be built from kits.

Some collecting tips

To a new collector the number of models available may seem daunting. Some degree of specialization will make choice more manageable. How about a certain style or model, by manufacturer, a certain year, a certain scale, type of material used or a themed collection? NASCAR models have a large number of fans. If you single out a manufacturer, brand new models can be purchased on release and you can search for bargains and rare examples from car boot sales, flea markets, yard sales, forums and that great resource internet auction site like ebay. Before you start you may want to check out helpful sources online such as instructional videos, books and links about the hobby of collecting model cars.

When you decide to start collecting you will find you can purchase cars on many venues: the internet, trade magazines and trade shows, in toy stores and hobby shops, or other ways like estate and garage sales, flea markets and the like. When you purchase that is not new, be sure to check the condition of the model and whether it has original parts before you commit yourself.

Joining a user forum will get you acclimated and you will become more informed. Here you might need to explore the options as you might like some forums and not others. A good forum for you will be a very positive experience. Collectors are a friendly community where members assist others to locate a desired model. Get familiar with the abbreviations and terminology collectors use in discussing cars in these user forums. You will become familiar with terms like chase cars which signifies a rare car collectors covet. Almost every Diecast company has its own chase car. It may be a particular model and make, color, or a series.

You should get familiar with how much cars cost. Cost of chase cars and vintage cars is useful knowledge to acquire. Vintage cars in mint condition, can be worth a packet. Consider anywhere between USD30-15,000. They can even sell for higher as the USD 85,000 purchase price of a very rare old Hot Wheels Red Line some years ago illustrates. I bet the kid who bought that car long ago never dreamed it could sell for this price. Attending Diecast shows are also very helpful. They can take place locally as well, so travel time can be saved. For example Dallas has one every month. When attending these shows consider being there from the start to the end. Morning attendance will aid your effort to obtain any hot cars you are interested in that may disappear later in the day. At closing time, dealers wishing to unload their stock will lower their prices or be in the mood to reduce the price for a determined bargain hunter.

Collectors are drawn to this hobby and the time and money involved for different reasons. It could be a passion for collection of skillfully crafted replica cars in miniature. It could be an investment with the hope the collection will increase in value; or some other urge to collect these miniature models of motoring perfection. Once you start on the collection route you may not be able to stop. You may want to expand your activities into restoration and the building of cars from kits. This could become an addiction. No matter what your age, collecting model cars can become an exciting hobby. Some enterprising individuals have even turned it into a business; and its growing audience now includes the female gender, especially former tomboys who loved playing with model cars in their childhood are revealing a passion for collecting Diecast model cars.

With the increasing trend in fuel prices not giving up, we have no way but to hope for some alternate fuel technology to save us. The predictions indicate that $4 per gallon for gas is not so far. One technology that has made the news recently is the HHO gas car modification, and it seems to have paid off, its one technology that is found to be working! Fox News and many other channels reported of such inventions and it is sure gaining popularity. The report from the inventor himself has intrigued many drivers across the world and thousands already have got the kit.

The main features that make the deal advantageous for us are:

1. When you convert your car to burn water, you are guaranteed with a increase in gas mileage of around 40 – 100%. Sound unbelievable, but all those who have tried it report that its indeed amazing.

2. Increase fuel efficiency, no longer you have to have the poorly designed engine use up only 20% of the fuel. When you add the hydrogen on demand system you get up to 100% fuel efficiency.

3. The horse power of the car is increased and the carbon dirt that might be in the engine are cleaned up. So you have smoother drives and enhanced engine life.

4. All these come to you at an amazingly low cost. Spending $100 for all these advantages is no big deal! If you want ready made kits, they cost you several hundreds from store but you can design your own kit for less than $100.

Given all these facts another important thing about the kit is that it is easily installed and can be easily removed too, with no traces of it being attached to the car at all.

Why pay someone to do something for us that we could easily do ourselves? Changing the oil in our cars is just one way for people to roll up their sleeves and rely on themselves to complete a job. However, you must dispose of the oil properly when you’re finished changing it.

The Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendment of 1984 made it necessary for individuals to find new ways to dispose of their automobile oil It’s not safe to simply put the oil in the garbage or pour it into the garden. Oil contains heavy metals and toxins, as well as the contaminants that can be picked up while running through the car’s system. Should this oil leak into the earth or find its way to a water source, people and animals alike, can be affected.

After you have removed the oil from your car, take great care not to spill any on the ground. It’s a good idea to use a drop cloth or unfolded newspapers under your oil collection pan. Now that the dirty oil is removed from your car, you can prepare to discard it. Modern conventional wisdom suggests that you take it to a service station to be recycled. This is kindest to Mother Nature-motor oil can be used over and over again, when recycled properly.

First, pour the oil into a clean plastic container with a lid which screws on securely, taking measures against accidental spillage. The container you choose needs to be new. Don’t reuse old food containers or any other packaging that might contain residue from that container’s previous use-this makes it harder for the oil to be recycled into a useable substance.

If you aren’t able to go to the service station right away, be sure to label the container clearly, with large lettering. Place the container in an out-of-the-way spot, such as high on a shelf in your garage, to keep curious fingers, and possibly paws, out of it. Then transport the oil to the station as soon as your schedule allows.

Taking proper care of your motor oil isn’t just a good idea-it’s the law, and it helps protect our environment as well. It only takes a few extra minutes of your time, and you can’t buy the kind of peace of mind that comes from doing the right thing.

Landcruisers are a range of sturdy cars designed by Toyota from Japan. They are widely popular in areas that require durability, reliability and off road performance. The cars were launched as competitors to vehicles like Jeep and Land Rover. The landcruiser wreckers are used parts that are sold to customers at comparatively lower prices. There are companies engaged in the activity of wrecking landcruisers and putting up part of the cars for sale. Landcruiser wreckers widely function at places in Australia like Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Queensland etc.

The basic function carried out by a car wrecker at a junkyard is dismantling of wrecked vehicles which are brought, selling their usable parts and recycling the metal parts that are left over as scraps. Often the high demand parts of popular vehicles like the landcruisers are kept at the salvage yards warehouse and sold to customers at much reduced prices as and when the demand arises.

The parts that are usually removed and sold from landcruisers are:

Light assemblies (headlights, blinkers, taillights)

Car seats

Parts of the exhaust system

Mirrors

Tiers

Engine and transmission (usually sold back to the auto company)

Buying car parts for luxury cars like Toyota invites surcharges which can be avoided by buying the parts from Toyota landcruiser wreckers. This could bring down the car maintenance cost by a considerable amount. However, you may have a concern about buying used car parts. Here are some tips to help you in buying used parts:

1.Find a reliable wrecker for getting authentic parts.

2.Some wreckers provide a guarantee on the car parts being sold.

3.Some parts sold are not used at all. They land up to wreckers as surplus from manufacturers. They are sold to wreckers because they are unwanted.

4.Look for surplus leftovers before you go into used car parts.

5.Many wreckers refund the amount paid incase results are not satisfactory within stipulated period of time.

Apart from landcruisers, other Toyota cars that are dismantled at some of the junkyards are Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Aristo, Toyota Aurion, Toyota Avalon, Toyota Avensis, Toyota Camry, Toyota Celica, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Cressida, Toyota Seca, Toyota Echo, Toyota Hiace, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Kluger amongst other Toyota cars.

Some of the most well known Toyota landcruiser wreckers in the business are:

Gold Coast 4WD wreckers.

B.I.P Toyota Wreckers, Melbourne.

Sunshine Wreckers.

This apart, some of the part can be found online. If you are not anywhere near a Toyota wrecker you can order for the parts online or browse through informations on the parts. Some websites you can visit are ones like PartsOnline.com.au, 4WDwreckers.com and findapart.com.au.

For the recreational car hobbyist, there are few better places to buy parts than on eBay. Think of it like this: if an auto parts swap meet had a child with Godzilla then eBay Motors would be their offspring. Here are the reasons why the Internet is the best place to buy parts:

1.	Convenience: Thanks to the Internet, people can buy things online when they want and where they want (at work, in the comfort of their home, wherever) and they don’t have to wait any longer for the first Saturday of the month when the swap meet happens.

2.	Quality assurance: Which is better: car parts that can be had really, really cheap on eBay, and other such sites, or haggling over a part by some fast-talking guy who knows there’s something wrong with the part but won’t budge on price?

3.	Lots of choice: You may not get the price you want at the swap meet, but you need the part, so you’re willing to spend a little more for it. The great thing about eBay is that you can pass on the stuff you don’t like because you know something similar will probably come along shortly.

4.	Price: At the swap meet you can barter back and forth, but it involves some give and take on both sides. Neither of you end up with the dollar figure you want. On eBay, though, you can set your price. If you don’t get it at that price, you can revisit your bid, but if you ride the auction till the end and bid just a dollar over the last bid, you’ll have a great chance of winning the bid at a price you’ll be happy with.

5.	Background check: EBay has a feedback rating which allows you to check up on how well the seller has lived up to their word. But at the swap meet, all you have to go on is your gut instinct when you’re face to face with the guy who’s trying to push his parts on you.

6.	Pay any way: Many sellers on eBay, though PayPal, accept checks, money orders, and credit cards. At the swap meet you’re either exchanging parts or cash. Paying for parts with a credit card lets you put off the payment until it’s convenient for you.

7.	Warranty: On eBay, you actually get a warranty when you buy products from them. The warranty is offered by eBay, and your credit card has a “chargeback” option, too, to protect you from getting ripped off. Was there a warranty at the last swap meet you were at?

EBay Motors is a great place to find cheap car parts. The prices and convenience is unbeatable. Forget those old swap meets, stay home, stay in your pajamas, and click for more convenience and savings.

In life, we need to work along with our goals to attain true success. But this is not just rocket science. It demands proper practical steps that have to be followed gradually. If you’re working towards a five year goal plan for example, you can’t just start achieving all the goals at once. You need to take them step by step in order of importance. This is what I call ORGANIZING. Productive people are always organized in what they do. They plan their time well and delegate each action in order of priority.

Being organized is a way of planning for success. In fact, it is living success before attaining success. It works with the body, mind, and hands. I said hands because it involves writing out your goals. There are so many techniques which could be used to organize your daily life and become more productive. But I will focus mainly on making a to-do list in this part.

A to-do list, as the name implies is simply a clearly written list of activities or goals an individual aims to achieve. It could be daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly. I find it most convenient using a daily to-do list. This is because I can consistently keep up with it. This could be written in order of time, priority or whatever you feel is okay for you. Here is an example below;

Activities for today

1. Tidy up

2. Prayer

3. Car maintenance

4. Publish issue#2 of e-zine

5. Attend psychology lectures

6. Meet with group members……………

It could be an endless list of goals to be achieved. But the one unique feature of a to-do list is brevity. That is, it’s always short and brief. It is a list one needs to scribble through quickly and have in an easily accessible place like a notepad or a personal billboard or wall. The most important thing is that it should be in a place where you can easily read it and follow through.

Activities which have been accomplished could be crossed or marked out in a clear, neat and understandable manner. For example;

1. Tidy up

2. Prayer

3. Attend chemistry lectures

4. Publish issue#2 of ezine

5. Visit bank

6. Evening date……………

Depending on your style, you could use any pattern you feel is best for you or you prefer. The most important thing is that it works properly for you.

The benefits of having a to-do list are countless. Personally, it has helped me plan my time better and has improved my time management skills. It has also made me see myself as a more valuable individual. This helps me in developing a higher sense of responsibility. Another important benefit is that it has helped me achieve a lot within a short time frame. It has created a stronger sense of fulfillment and self-esteem in me, as an individual.

Having a to-do list makes you know what is more important and less important. It helps you in time management and prevents unnecessary anxiety and haste. An individual who keeps himself conscious of his time and goals gets more respect and is seen as a leader figure. Organization is the key to fulfillment. Remember to always plan your day in advance. To be continued…….

For more info visit http://www.sahbadmotivation.blogspot.com

If you own a car you know how expensive it can be to replace it. In these tougher economic times it makes sense to give your car regular maintenance so that you can not only keep the car running in tip top shape but so that you don’t have to replace the car too soon.

Every 2 Weeks

A good mechanic will tell you that every couple of weeks (or 3,000 miles) you should check the engine oil, transmission fluid and coolant. Keep a written record so you know when you need to check these items again. You will want to change the oil and oil filter about every six months.

Monthly

About once a month you should check the tire pressure. Having properly inflated tires will not only help reduce wear and tear on the tires but means you will use less gas to run the car.

At 6 Months or More

Every six months or so you should rotate the tires and once a year you should flush the radiator, replace the anti-freeze and check the air conditioning system. It is a good idea to change the spark plugs at around 24,000 miles or every two years. As well you should change the automatic transmission fluid and filter.

Brakes should be checked every 50,000 miles or so. If they need to be replaced make sure you take your car to a licensed mechanic and it’s always a good idea to get at least three estimates from different mechanics before you decide who will change the brakes.

In order to make sure you are taking the best care of your car, read the owner’s manual. Not only will it give you all the information you need to know about the car it will also give you an idea as to a maintenance schedule.

If you feel that you can do some of the maintenance yourself to save some money, get some books or videos to make sure you know what you are doing. You can also get your mechanic to give you some tips on how to check and change the oil, transmission fluid, tire pressure and coolant.

To make sure your car gets the best maintenance find a good mechanic that you can trust and set up a routine for your car’s maintenance. Finding a good mechanic can make the difference in the length of time you keep the car. They will not only be able to save you money in the long run but give you some piece of mind about the car’s safety.

Another way to make sure your car lasts longer is to park it in a garage or at least a carport when you aren’t using it. This will help to protect the car’s exterior because repainting your car can be very expensive.

There’s always a reason to look for a way to make extra money. Having trouble paying bills, wanting or needing a new house or car, getting married, having a child, having someone in your family come down with an illness. These are all reasons, amongst many others, that would cause you to need extra money.

As long as the internet has been an easily accessible resource in our homes, then making money by taking online surveys has been a way for people to earn that extra cash. Unfortunately, too many people believe think that the business of taking surveys automatically translates in some sort of survey money machine, like a sort of cyber ATM. You put the survey in, and the money comes out.

Many people know that this is the belief that has grown up around paid surveys, and because of that, new scams abound just waiting to take advantage. They encourage you to pay them in order to get a “secret list” of survey companies that need your valued opinions so badly, they are willing to pay top dollar for them.

That’s not how it actually works. Survey companies approach payments in many different ways. While some do actually pay you real currency, others award “money” that is redeemed for gift cards and vouchers, while still others give you points that can be traded in for sweepstakes entries or prizes.

Regardless of the manner in which survey companies award you for your jobs completing survey, the truth is that taking online surveys for money will never allow you to quit your day job. Surveys don’t pay a lot, and regardless of what each surveys pay, you often won’t qualify to take all the surveys that have been sent to you.

What this means is that you will be invited to take a certain amount of surveys, and before you complete the survey, you will be stopped and told that due to an answer you have given you no longer qualify for the survey, and you will not be paid for taking it, even if you have completed ten minutes of a fifteen minute survey.

This does not make the survey company a scam. Market research companies are just looking for such a specific demographic when doing their research, that one answer could easily make your survey ineligible for the study. It’s just a part of the survey game.

So, while taking online surveys may not be quite the survey money machine you thought it was, marketing companies still do want your valued opinions, and will still pay you for them. As long as you fit their criteria exactly.
