The Run Your Car On Water Hoax

I receive countless emails every week from people asking me this question is water4gas a run your car on water hoax. In a way I am not totally surprised- I was very sceptical when I first bought the water4gas system as well. With oil prices at an all time high of nearly $130US per barrel, it was inevitable that such a system would be marketed to the masses.

So in essence it is not a hoax – it is possible to run your car on water. To be more accurate the proper term is an HHO (Hydroxy or Browns) Gas Car Modification System.

Basically you combine bi-carb of soda with water in a small canister which receives power off your car battery. This reaction produces HHO gas which is fired in to the carburettor or manifold. The end result is that the car requires less energy to run.

This might sound ridiculous, but it does work. There are certainly limitations and newer model cars will be harder to configure with a run your car on water system such as water4gas. Further to increasing mileage, utilizing a run your car on water system will reduce emissions produced by your engine and your car will run quieter. Some people claim to notice a drop off in acceleration – this might be a slight trade off for increasing you MPG by well over 30%. I don’t know about you, but I don’t mind going a bit slower if it going to say me thousand’s of dollars a year on gasoline.

Conclusion

So to summarize the run your car on water hoax does not exist. There are legitimate HHO gas car modification systems which enable you to run your car on a mixture of water and gasoline. You must be prepared to assemble the apparatus yourself from the blueprint supplied -although there are many supplier’s who will happy assemble your run your car on water system for you.

Car Thieves at Dealerships

It seems the effects of these trying economic times know no bounds. People are resorting to even more illegal activities and theft is on the rise. In particular, car theft seems to be the most attractive for the desperate because of its street value.

Most car thieves used the old fashion techniques like jimmying the lock or using a crowbar. Lately, many car dealerships are dealing with car theft right under their own noses. It seems many of these thefts are inside jobs. Vast majorities of other car dealerships with less than adequate security are becoming more hip to the times and have beefed up security measures to protect against theft form the outside.

It was reported that a western Nebraska, Scottsbluff to be exact, the Legacy Ford Lincoln Mercury Toyota car dealership lost dozens of new cars in early March of this year. The cars were later found at auto auctions in Utah and Arizona. The culprits? Well it wasn’t the usual suspects. It was the executives working inside the car dealership – the dealership owner Allen Patch, the general manager Rick Covello and the controller Rachel Fait. They cleared out their offices and left town with 81 Ford and Toyota vehicles!

This was not your ordinary heist. These vehicles were vanishing by the truckload! It rather reminds you of the Fast and the Furious movie with Vin Diesel and his crew high jacking fast cars while driving in even faster cars on the highway at high speed. Of course, that’s Hollywood and the guilty here were more low – keyed and under the radar and arranged it from behind an office desk. This was a true insider operation and a car theft story with TV or movie potential. How about that ol’ Nicholas Cage auto theft film – Gone in Sixty Seconds? The total cost of the merchandise stolen was over $2 million! It’s no wonder the car dealer executives disappeared all of a sudden after the heist occurred.

Though many of these cars were sold, they were eventually caught in Utah at an auto auction. When you’re trusted with very expensive inventory, and desperation takes over, stories such as this become the reality. This car dealership was obviously going through some financial troubles just like most businesses in the country.

Just a couple of weeks ago, there was a car theft at a successful cash for car business in Long Island, NY. The car thief was daring and managed to steal car keys to a Mercedes on the car lot. The thief managed to sneak in and out with the key and drive off the lot with the Mercedes.

Thanks to sophisticated video surveillance placed strategically in key areas, the key theft was caught on tape! The dealership immediately had the video aired on the Channel 12 News that evening as well as the following morning. They received an anonymous phone call from an individual stating the exact same car was parked in the nearby area. Seeing himself on the Channel 12 News must’ve made him think twice about keeping it.

Suffice to say, the dealership was able to recover the stolen vehicle back to their lot. The owner immediately added more upgrades to the dealership’s security to the point where it is more airtight than ever before. Considering the shape the economy is in, they’re doing rather well in these times and the owner obviously intends to keep it that way.

Direct Mail and Direct Mail Marketing for Auto Accessory Stores

Do you own an auto accessory store or automobile aftermarket auto accessory shop? If so you know you must increase your sales thru word-of-mouth advertising and referrals, but how do you get the original clientele in to start this landslide of new business?

You need customers and the more you have the more that will tell their friends. How can you generate massive amounts of new business ASAP for your auto aftermarket shop?

Well perhaps, a robust yet inexpensive marketing and advertising program might do the trick. Let me explain; you see, Direct Mail and Direct Mail Marketing coupon packages for Auto Accessory Stores and aftermarket auto service shops makes sense. This is because the return on investment to sending out direct-mail pays off with many new customers.

Direct mail should be sent out from auto accessory stores at least three times per year to areas with in a 25-mile radius and specifically to those people who belong to car clubs as well. The important thing is to get the people into the auto accessory store to look around and know where it is and that it is there so that next time they need something they will come and buy.

Additionally it makes sense to invite people using direct mail to come to a party or get together and this way you have more people out there telling their friends about your auto accessory store. Perhaps you might consider the value of direct marketing and mailing for your auto business as well? Think on this in 2006.

Airbrushing Those Model Cars – Tips and How To

The best way to apply paint is by airbrushing. It takes less time, and, come off it; we humans are totally all about making things a bit easier. But when you do use the air brush technique can be sort of tricky. So, here are some steps for air brushing that you should keep in mind!

When and How to Use

There are a few circumstances in which you might use an air brush. One time when you would use this is when you have large areas to fill in. Another would be when you have thin lines. Many use this when they are mixing their colors as well to give it just the right tone. Start out with a single layered airbrush. This is easier to use until you have had practice with your models. The next things you’ll want to keep in mind are the air compressors. They can be tricky so make sure you really read up on them. A lot of airbrushes come with diaphragms that teach you how to use them. Make sure you test it on other things before your models. It can get tricky. Of course, there’s the obvious precaution of making sure you have plenty of ventilation too. Other safety precautions are wearing a mask over your mouth and goggles as well. For those of you who hate to get your clothes dirty, you can buy lab type coats to wear.

The paints should match up as well as possible; you might need a primer too. The model kit should tell you in the instructions what you need. To avoid catching any areas you don’t want spray painted, here are a few tips. First of all, use tape to tape off a boundary edge. Don’t spray at an angle. This is how you get the paint underneath the tape. However, if you do get it under the tape and want to get it off, rubbing alcohol always helps to remove paint.

Finding the Right Paint and Equipment

Before you go to mix paint so that the colors look authentic, try craft stores. Sometimes they carry those colors already mixed and ready for you to use. A tip to keep in mind is that most of the modern day kits use water based acrylics.

After you learn how to use the airbrush, it will go really quickly on the projects that you are working on. This takes time, as it would with anything new you use. You just have to have a bit of patience and some practice. There are many types of airbrushes and while one can suggest one thing in an article, only you know what you are ready to handle. Go to the store and pick up an airbrush. The sales people can help you pick out the perfect one. One type may do a better job in some instances, and another is better for other projects. It’s just that everyone prefers something over another thing and who better to help you than the ones who are getting paid to help you? This is especially true if this is your first ever time.

Model Cars Under Glass – How to Display Large Models

Do you build or collect large scale model cars just to find that they end up sitting on a stray shelf collecting dust? Do you wonder if there is anything that you could do that would help display them in a much more enjoyable manner? No problem! You can build a display case to house them in. If you have ever spent much time in a museum then you might have noticed that the right display can make all the difference between a ‘good’ and ‘great’.

First, you will want to decide exactly how many of your model cars you want to display in the case. This will help you to determine the overall size of the shelf section of your case. You will also have to decide if you want to add in little touches to make it more of a scene than just a static display. This could mean adding fuel pumps and gas attendants or some other such model figures to help add a bit of realism to your cars.

Once you have decided this then you can start thinking about how much space you need. For example if you will be displaying three 1:8 scale cars and they are going to work together in a scene then you might need a board roughly roughly three feet wide and between five and seven feet long. This will give you enough space to place your model cars three wide and angle them slightly so that they are not placed straight across.

The best sort of board for a display such as this is 1/2 inch plywood. It can be stained and made to look nice once it has a finish on it. The next thing you must do is to decide how high you want it to stand. For support, you need to frame the underside with 2×4 lumber. Pine is fine because when you are finished you will not be able to see it. Screw the plywood onto the wide side of the 2×4 making sure that each piece you cut will fit into place before you screw it down. Use 4 inch screws so that they will be long enough for the next step of the project. Make sure that you do not go all the way through the plywood and 2×4 underneath. You just want the bare tip poking through so you can easily start into the next section of wood when you are ready. Now you are ready to finish the framework underneath.

If you want your display about waist high then you will have to base your measurements on your own waist. Mine for example is about 36 inches high. I would need to subtract the width of the top of the frame and the bottom of the frame and the distance left would be the length of the 2×4 supports I would need to cut. In this case it would be 32 inches each.

If you want your display to hold a good deal of weight then it is a good idea to add extra supports on each side. Line your 2×4 sections up one at a time with the screws that you first installed in the top section and screw them on. The screws should be be long enough to pull the parts together without going all the way through.

Once you have the legs on, you can install the bottom section. The bottom will basically be the same as the framed section of the top part consisting of four 2x4s lying flat and screwed into the legs above them.

Next you are ready to add the side panels. All you have to do is to cut plywood to fit over the sides of your display base. Make sure that you measure each section before you cut your plywood. It is better to measure three times and cut once than the opposite. Screw them into place with some 1/2 inch screws and you are done with the base, other than adding any decorative trim that you might want.

If you want to finish your plywood to give it color you can now do so. Make sure you have plenty of ventilation and wear respiratory protection while painting the plywood.

If you want to cover your model cars then you can either purchase Plexiglas sheets (which you can cut and make into a box shape to set over your display), or you can get fancy and have a glass cutter cut out individual panes and then you can frame them in on top of your display. Either way, your model car display will look great and you can proudly show it to others.

Car Rims

Car rims are also called wheel rims. The different types of rims are spinning rims, chrome rimes, truck rims, American racing rims or custom rims. These differ in design, price, size, weight and mounting options. When the rims are lighter in weight, the overall road performance of the vehicle is improved.

Car rims are vital to the handling and performance of the vehicle. The wheel styles range from regular 5 spoke alloy wheels and wire wheels to the latest chrome spinning wheels. Many car owners also use custom designed rims and this enhances the look of a vehicle and lends it a bit of exclusivity.

Earlier car models had steel rims. Steel wheels were heavy, added unnecessary weight to the car and reduced performance. Modern rims are more sleek and aerodynamic. Alloy wheels are a good choice for city commuting and are most common in the mainstream market. They are light, dissipate heat rapidly and improve mileage.

Chrome wheel rims are popular due to their shiny exterior. Many other types of alloy rims have been introduced in the last decade. Custom alloy rims include magnesium rims that are x-rayed and heat tempered to ensure that they look good and are durable.

The size of the rim increases with the size of the car. Smaller cars have rims that are 13 inches in diameter. Larger vehicles have rims that can go up to 27 inches and beyond. Rear wheel drives vehicles typically need rims 2 inches larger in diameter than front wheel drive vehicles.

Increasing the size of the rim enhances the look, as well as the performance of the vehicle. “Plus sizing” is a term that refers to increasing the size of the car rim in proportion to the wheel. Plus sizing gives the driver a better steering response and the ability to handle corners more efficiently. A larger surface area of the wheel comes in contact with the road when the size of the rim is increased.

One of the hottest trends today is for car rims that include spinners. These rims cause an optical illusion. The wheel looks as though it is still spinning when a vehicle is stationary. These wheels are designed to attract an onlooker’s attention. They don’t have any specific utility value, but are popular nonetheless.
